Vice Chair of Medical Oncology
Ann Partridge, MD, MPH is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Vice Chair of Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she also serves as Director of the Adult Survivorship Program and leads the Program for Young Women with Breast Cancer. As a medical oncologist and clinical researcher, she has sought to improve the care and outcomes of patients with cancer by conducting research, and by developing innovative clinical programming. Dr. Partridge serves in leadership roles nationally and internationally including as co-chair of the Breast Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and co-chair of the biennial ESMO-ESO sponsored Breast Cancer in Young Women Conference. She also served as Chair of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer in Young Women from 2010-17. She has received prior awards and grants including a Champions of Change award from the White House, an ASCO Improving Cancer Care Grant, the CDC Carol Friedman Award, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Outstanding Investigator Award for Breast Cancer, and the Ellen L. Stovall Award in Cancer Survivorship from ASCO, and the A. Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award from Harvard Medical School. After graduating from Georgetown University, Dr. Partridge received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, pursued an internal medicine residency at the Hospital for the University of Pennsylvania, and completed Medical Oncology and Hematology fellowship at Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare. She earned a Master of Public Health degree at the Harvard School of Public Health

She completed her fellowship at the Nottingham Breast Institute, United Kingdom where she was able to formally train under plastic and reconstructive breast surgeons and is a member of the International Post Graduate Deanery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has maintained her skills and expertise in general surgery and endoscopy as a means to be able to provide holistic care for her patients. Her passion and drive to improve herself is inspired by the group of women who have supported her, as such, she has a particular interest in young breast cancer and primary prevention. She has worked with anthropologists on this subject and has equipped herself with the full breadth of breast surgery techniques in the hope to enable her patients to survive better.

Dr. Lim spearheaded NCCS Home Care, and has contributed to national healthcare financing and policy workgroups set up under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Janice Tsang is a Specialist in Medical Oncology and the Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, HKU, and Founding Convenor of HKBOG, Hong Kong. Dr Tsang’s research interests lie mainly in breast oncology, geriatric oncology, translational research and psycho-oncology. Being the first female academic medical oncologist at The University of Hong Kong (HKU), she was awarded the 2014 Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, and the 2012 Hong Kong City Lady Award (Professional & Academic Category) as the only medical professional receiving this award for the year. She was also the winner of the Psychosocial Oncology Young Investigator Award at the 16th Hong Kong International Cancer Congress & 6th Annual Meeting of Centre for Cancer Research in 2009, and was bestowed the Faculty Teaching Medal in 2012, and the Outstanding Teaching Award (Team Award) for Medical Humanities in 2013 in recognition of her being one of the pioneers in incorporating medical humanities in the formal medical curriculum. She has conducted over 80 clinical trials, including local, regional and international multicenter clinical trials. She has been serving as Chairperson for the Data Monitoring Committee, Steering Committee members for major multi-centered clinical trials, as well as various international and regional advisory boards. She is a key opinion leader in breast oncology both locally and regionally. She is also the Founding Convenor of the HKBOG, which is now a member of the ‘Breast International Group’, being the 3rd Asian member after Japan and Taiwan. She is also appointed as Chair of the CTRG Audit Committee for the National Cancer Institute in 2017, and a member of the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG), serving as co-track chair for translational research in SIOG. She is also the Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the 8th Global Chinese Breast Cancer Organizations Alliance Conference 2021. Dr Tsang is currently member of the Specialty Board of Medical Oncology and used to be the Programme Director for Medical Oncology in the Hong Kong Island at the Hong Kong College of Physicians; a member of the Coordinating Committee (CoC) for Medical Oncology at the Hospital Authority; Deputy Chairperson for the Institutional Review Board for the Hong Kong West Cluster/HKU; and Director of Cancer Centre at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. She has various appointments in different professional bodies, such as Honorary Advisor for various cancer self-help groups, including the Hong Kong Christian Cancer Care Association and the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. Furthermore, she serves as member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee and the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee in Hong Kong. She also serves as Deputy Chairman for the Women for Oncology Committee at the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) for the term of 2020–2021, and as Founding Convenor of the Hong Kong Women for Oncology (HKW4O).

Currently she is undergoing a fellowship in Advanced Breast Surgery within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre and Department of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Singapore General Hospital. She will further hone her skills in oncological and reconstructive breast surgery during this time. Dr Lim Sue Zann is actively involved in medical education. She is a Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Physician Faculty Member at SingHealth General Surgery Residency Program. She received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2013. Her research interests are in breast sarcoma and phyllodes tumours. She was awarded the Singapore General Hospital Research Grant in 2016 to further her work in these tumours. She has presented at surgical conferences and published papers on breast surgery.

She leads the research unit at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, overseeing numerous clinical trials in breast, GI and lung cancer including fundamental trials that resulted in the approval of pembrolizumab in metastatic triple negative breast cancer. She is actively participating in international clinical trials in varied innovative therapies such as targeted therapies, PARP inhibitors, immunotherapies and antibody-drug conjugates and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals. Dr Mastura is currently on the Scientific Committee for breast cancer at ESMO Asia 2023 while continues to be an active member of ESMO and ASCO. As an honorary lecturer at University Malaya, Vice President for the College of Radiology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia and secretary of the Malaysian Oncological Society, she is a well-respected key opinion leader and educator in her field of work in radiation and medical oncology. She is a member of guideline formulation for systemic chemotherapy protocol and Clinical Practice Guidelines for thyroid, breast and colorectal cancer and many others. Dr Samuel Ow is a Consultant Medical Oncologist in the Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS). He obtained his medical degree from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where he was awarded Distinction in Medicine, the Nestle Gold Medal, and placed on the Dean’s List for his academic achievements. He received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding House Officer of his entire cohort in 2007, and obtained the Masters of Medicine (Internal Medicine) and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) on an MOHH Postgraduate Exam Scholarship in 2011. He subsequently successfully completed his specialty training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at NCIS where he served as Chief Registrar, and was also selected for the inaugural Singapore Chief Residency Program. Dr Samuel Ow’s clinical and research interests are in Breast Cancer and Clinical Cancer Genetics. He received a Master of Public Heath with concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on an Academic Medicine Development Award in 2016. During his time in Baltimore, USA, he also attended sessions at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is a co-investigator in several investigator-initiated and multi-national clinical trials. His research work has been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting. He is an alumnus of the Clinical Cancer Genetics Community of Practice Intensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment conducted by the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, and currently runs the Cancer Genetics Clinic at NCIS. He also sits on the committee for the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at the institutional and national level, to help drive greater awareness for breast cancer screening and prevention in the general public. Dr Samuel Ow strongly believes in the importance of training the next generation of physicians. He is an Assistant Professor on the Clinician-Educator track at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and is currently the Associate Program Director of the Medical Oncology Senior Residency Program at NCIS. He is active in medical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and has been awarded for teaching excellence. On the administrative front, Dr Samuel Ow serves as Assistant Clinical Director of the Division of Medical Oncology, and is involved in improving processes to enhance clinical care in cancer patients. He is an advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration, and notably led a team from NCIS to win the Best Practice Medal (Care Redesign Category) at the National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity Medals 2019.

During her training she was awarded multiple scholar in training awards and ASCO merit awards. She has served as an editorial fellow at the New England Journal of medicine and has an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. She has over 100 papers to her credit including 50 peer review original articles, 30 review articles and 12 book chapters. She serves as a reviewer for multiple journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She currently leads the oncology clinical trials program at Mediclinic City Hospital Dubai. She also serves as president of the UAE Cancer Congress that is held annually in Dubai and is co-president of the Asia pacific breast cancer summit (ABCS) and Asia pacific gastrointestinal cancer summit (APGCS). She has also recently launched the international BRCA forum and MENA immune-oncology summit.

As one of the few breast surgeons in Singapore formally trained in oncoplastic breast surgery, A/Prof Tan believes that the appearance of the breast after cancer resection is important, and that every patient should have a tailored, individualised surgical solution. She works within a dynamic multidisciplinary team to deliver precise, high quality and effective treatment. A/Prof Tan’s practice covers benign breast conditions, the diagnosis and surgical treatment of symptomatic and screen-detected breast cancer, oncoplastic breast surgery and breast reconstruction. Active in research and teaching, A/Prof Tan has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and contributed several book chapters on oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery.
